Krista is a Certified Crisis Responder and Trauma Specialist with over 70 certifications, an M.A in Trauma Psychology, a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Forensics & National Security and 20 years of experience working with children, families and communities in times of crisis.

She has worked with hundreds of children and families who felt stuck and hopeless. I created Building Blocks to provide an accessible, real-world, science-backed, time-tested, step-by-step solution for anyone ready to invest in building resilient, confident, mentally healthy, successful children.

In the early years I was struck by the lack of effectiveness and long-lasting change achieved by traditional parenting and education models and wanted to shatter the same old broken systems still failing to meet the needs of our children and families. Thus the Building Blocks framework was born from years of experimentation, observation, and feedback from children, families and communities who wanted more and better.

This program fuses some of the most acclaimed frameworks for understanding the challenges facing our youth into a single cohesive, and effective strategy. built on developmental, behavioral, a neuroscientific research, with influences from Attachment Theory, Somatics, and Polyvagal theories this program gets results.

Not only has this program helped hundreds of families, organizations and communities, I've had the privilege to use these tools in my own family and know firsthand the value of this approach. Together we've defeated predators, a house fire, cancer and puberty to create a deeply loving, respect and trust filled relationship that is frequently the envy of everyone we meet.
