Built on the frontlines. For the frontlines.
The frontlines run through our homes, our communities, and the decisions that shape our country. I write from my work as a trauma and crisis practitioner, disaster and emergency response manager, and human trafficking investigator, bringing frontline experience and advocacy to the issues that affect how we live, protect, respond, and care for one another.
I also write as a person who has lived through adversity, found my own assumptions challenged, and had to decide what to do next without a clear map. I bring my questions, convictions, curiosity, and occasional well-timed sarcasm to these conversations, along with a willingness to keep learning. Some stories come from the work. Others come from the ordinary, complicated experience of being human.
Here, I share stories, ask difficult questions, and explore possible solutions with attention to the people living with the consequences. From family relationships and community safety to crisis response and the systems we rely on, these articles offer food for thought, room for honest reflection, and practical perspectives you can bring into your own conversations and actions.
