RISEUP Phoenix Trauma and Crisis Institute

Private Coaching Policies & Participation Standards

Revised November 5, 2026

Important: Coaching is educational and developmental; it is not medical care, psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis response.

1. Purpose and Scope

These policies explain how private coaching services are delivered by RISEUP Phoenix Institute LLC (the "Company") through Krista L. Fee (the "Coach"). They apply to individual coaching, package coaching, couples or multi-participant coaching, intensive sessions, and related remote or in-person services unless a signed written agreement states otherwise.

Coaching is a collaborative process intended to support reflection, clarity, personal development, leadership, relationships, resilience, decision-making, behavior change, and practical action. The Client remains responsible for all choices, actions, results, health decisions, legal decisions, financial decisions, and relationships.

2. Coach Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching in good faith, within the Coach's education, training, experience, and stated scope of practice.
  • Maintain clear professional boundaries and communicate honestly about what coaching can and cannot provide.
  • Create a respectful environment where the Client may reflect, ask questions, identify patterns, explore options, and develop practical next steps.
  • Use reasonable professional judgment when selecting coaching tools and explain experiential methods before using them.
  • Request the Client's voluntary consent before hypnosis, guided imagery, timeline exercises, NLP-based exercises, inner-child work, shadow work, somatic awareness, or other experiential activities.
  • Protect Client information with reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, subject to the limitations and exceptions stated in these policies.
  • Refer or encourage the Client to seek a licensed medical, mental-health, legal, financial, emergency, or other qualified professional when the Client's needs fall outside coaching scope.
  • Maintain scheduling, payment, and session records reasonably necessary to operate the coaching relationship.

3. Client Responsibilities

  • Participate voluntarily, honestly, and to the extent the Client considers appropriate.
  • Provide accurate information relevant to coaching and promptly disclose safety concerns, current crisis, significant medical or psychiatric conditions, medication changes, or professional treatment that could affect participation.
  • Ask questions, decline any exercise, request a pause, or withdraw consent at any time.
  • Make independent decisions and accept responsibility for actions and outcomes.
  • Attend sessions sober and able to participate. Sessions may be ended or rescheduled if impairment or safety concerns interfere with participation.
  • Maintain appropriate medical and mental-health care and follow the advice of licensed treating professionals.
  • Honor scheduling, payment, conduct, and technology requirements.

4. Coaching Is Not Healthcare or Licensed Mental-Health Treatment

The Coach is acting as a coach, educator, trainer, and strategic transformation practitioner. Unless expressly disclosed in a separate written agreement, the Coach is not acting as the Client's physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, licensed professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, social worker, attorney, financial adviser, or other licensed healthcare or professional-services provider.

No diagnosis, treatment, or cure: Coaching does not diagnose, assess, treat, prevent, or cure any medical condition, psychological disorder, mental illness, substance-use disorder, disability, injury, or disease. Coaching does not replace psychotherapy, counseling, medical care, medication management, rehabilitation, legal representation, or emergency services.

The Client should never disregard, delay, begin, stop, or change professional medical or mental-health treatment based solely on coaching. Any therapeutic-sounding language used in conversation describes educational or personal-development work and does not convert coaching into healthcare.

5. Crisis, Safety, and Emergency Limitations

Coaching is not a crisis service and the Coach does not provide continuous monitoring, emergency response, on-call coverage, suicide assessment, protective custody, or emergency intervention. Email, text, community messaging, and social media must not be used to request emergency assistance.

Emergency instruction: If the Client or another person may be in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States, the Client may also call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. A person experiencing domestic violence, trafficking, stalking, abuse, or another safety threat should contact an appropriate emergency, advocacy, shelter, law-enforcement, medical, or legal resource.

The Coach may pause or terminate coaching and recommend a higher level of care when the Coach reasonably believes coaching is unsafe, inappropriate, insufficient, or outside scope.

6. Privacy, Confidentiality, and Its Limits

The Company will treat coaching communications as private and will not intentionally disclose Client information except with Client authorization, as reasonably necessary to operate the service, or as described below. Coaching confidentiality is contractual; it is not guaranteed to carry the legal evidentiary privilege that may apply to communications with certain licensed healthcare providers or attorneys.

The Company may disclose information when reasonably believed necessary or permitted to:

  • Comply with law, court order, subpoena, legal process, or a lawful governmental request.
  • Make a report concerning suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, trafficking, or other harm when reporting is required or permitted by law.
  • Respond to a credible and imminent threat of serious harm, an emergency, or a request for a welfare check.
  • Protect the rights, safety, property, or legal interests of the Client, the Coach, the Company, or another person.
  • Consult confidentially with legal counsel, insurers, accountants, technology providers, or professional consultants who have a legitimate need for the information.
  • Process scheduling, payment, contracts, email, text messages, videoconferencing, file storage, or other administrative functions through third-party service providers.

The Company is not representing that it is a HIPAA-covered healthcare provider. Clients should avoid sending unnecessary medical records, highly sensitive identifiers, or detailed crisis information by ordinary email or text.

7. Remote Sessions and Technology

  • Sessions may occur through Zoom, StreamYard, telephone, or another agreed platform.
  • The Client is responsible for a private location, reliable connection, suitable device, and safe conditions for participation.
  • The Client will not participate while driving or operating equipment.
  • Electronic systems carry risks, including interruption, unauthorized access, misdirected messages, data loss, and platform outages. The Company will use reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.
  • If technology fails, the parties may continue by phone, reschedule, or use another reasonable method.

8. Scheduling, Rescheduling, and Late Arrival

  • Sessions are scheduled through the Company's booking system or by written confirmation.
  • At least 24 hours' notice is required to reschedule or cancel any session, including intensives and couples sessions. A late cancellation or missed appointment may be charged or deducted from a package.
  • A late arrival does not automatically extend the scheduled end time. If the Coach is late, the Client will receive the full booked time or an appropriate reschedule or credit.
  • The Coach may waive a fee for a documented emergency or extraordinary circumstance at the Coach's reasonable discretion. A waiver on one occasion does not change the policy.

9. Fees, Packages, Payment Plans, and Expiration

  • Single-session rates are disclosed at booking or stated in a written agreement.
  • Payment is due before the session unless a signed agreement provides a payment schedule.
  • Package discounts reflect the Client's commitment to purchase multiple sessions. Packages are personal, nontransferable, and expire 12 months after the purchase date unless the Company agrees to an extension in writing.
  • A payment plan divides the total package obligation into installments; it is not a cancel-anytime subscription unless the written package terms expressly say so.
  • If an installment fails, future sessions may be paused until the account is current. Reasonable collection costs may be pursued to the extent permitted by law.
  • Promotions, scholarships, need-based pricing, community benefits, and negotiated organizational rates do not establish a permanent rate.

10. Refunds and Early Termination

Because coaching reserves time and includes access to services and materials, completed sessions, late-cancelled sessions, missed sessions, digital materials, and used community access are nonrefundable. For an unused prepaid individual session, the Company may provide a refund, credit, or service substitution when required by law or approved in writing.

For multi-session packages, the written package agreement controls. Unless prohibited by law, if the Company approves early termination, completed and forfeited sessions may be repriced at the then-current standard single-session rate, nonrecoverable fees and delivered benefits may be deducted, and only a remaining positive balance will be refunded. Payment-plan balances already earned or contractually committed remain due.

11. Experiential Methods and Informed Choice

With the Client's agreement, coaching may incorporate hypnosis, guided meditation, visualization, breathing or grounding practices, timeline exploration, NLP-based exercises, somatic awareness, inner-child or shadow exploration, identity work, journaling, role rehearsal, or other educational and experiential methods.

  • Participation is voluntary and the Client may stop any exercise at any time.
  • No specific outcome, memory recovery, emotional response, behavior change, or symptom change is promised.
  • Hypnosis does not remove personal control, and the Client remains able to speak, move, pause, or end the exercise.
  • These methods are not used to establish historical or legal facts, recover supposedly accurate memories, conduct forensic investigation, or replace licensed treatment.
  • Clients with trauma symptoms, psychosis, dissociation, seizure disorders, unstable medical conditions, active substance intoxication, or other relevant concerns should consult an appropriate licensed professional before participating.

12. Couples and Multi-Participant Coaching

Couples coaching and facilitated conversations are educational and collaborative services; they are not legal mediation, marital therapy, custody evaluation, forensic assessment, or a substitute for independent legal advice. The Coach does not decide who is right, determine legal rights, or guarantee reconciliation.

  • The coaching relationship is with the participating unit as defined in the written agreement, not secretly with one participant against another.
  • The Coach may use a no-secrets policy for information material to the joint work. Information shared privately may need to be brought into the joint session or the Coach may end the joint work.
  • The Coach will not knowingly facilitate a process that appears coercive or unsafe. Screening, referral, separate support, or termination may be required where violence, threats, stalking, coercive control, active addiction, severe instability, or major power imbalance is present.
  • Each participant should obtain independent legal, financial, medical, or mental-health advice when appropriate.

13. Communications and Boundaries

  • Administrative messages may be sent by email or text. Routine responses are generally provided during business hours and are not guaranteed immediately.
  • Between-session coaching, document review, research, voice messages, or extensive written feedback are included only when the package description or written agreement says so.
  • Social-media interaction does not create a coaching relationship and should not be used for private or urgent matters.
  • The Client will not record, livestream, publish, distribute, or permit another person to observe a private session without advance written consent from everyone involved.

14. Intellectual Property and Materials

The Company retains all rights in its frameworks, exercises, recordings, workbooks, forms, questions, course materials, community resources, graphics, methods, trademarks, and other content. The Client receives a limited, revocable, nonexclusive license to use provided materials for the Client's own personal or internal professional development. The Client may not reproduce, teach, sell, publish, sublicense, upload, or distribute materials without written permission.

The Client retains ownership of the Client's original personal writings and materials. The Company will not use identifiable Client stories, images, recordings, testimonials, or case examples for marketing without separate written permission.

15. Results, Assumption of Risk, and No Guarantees

Personal growth and relationship work can involve discomfort, uncertainty, fatigue, grief, difficult memories, conflict, or unexpected insight. The Client voluntarily accepts the ordinary emotional and practical risks of coaching and agrees to communicate when pacing or methods should change.

The Coach does not guarantee income, employment, promotion, relationship repair, reconciliation, recovery, health improvement, emotional relief, legal outcome, business result, or any other specific result. Outcomes depend on many factors beyond the Coach's control, including Client participation and external circumstances.

16. Ending the Coaching Relationship

Either party may end coaching by written notice, subject to package payment and refund terms. The Company may end or pause services for nonpayment, repeated missed sessions, harassment, threats, boundary violations, undisclosed conflicts, unsafe conditions, scope concerns, lack of productive fit, or other reasonable cause. When appropriate and feasible, the Coach may offer referral information; a referral does not guarantee availability or suitability.

17. Complaints and Problem Resolution

Clients are encouraged to raise concerns directly and promptly so the parties can attempt a practical resolution. Concerns may be submitted to [email protected]. The Company will review the concern in good faith. This internal process does not waive rights or deadlines provided by applicable law.

18. Governing Terms

These policies are governed by Texas law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless a signed agreement states otherwise, venue for a dispute will lie in a court of competent jurisdiction in Montgomery County, Texas. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to the fullest extent permitted by law. A written coaching agreement, package addendum, or checkout term may add to these policies; if terms directly conflict, the later signed agreement controls for that service.

19. Acknowledgment

Booking, purchasing, or participating in coaching indicates that the Client has had access to these policies and agrees to follow them. A separate signed Coaching Services Agreement is required for packages, payment plans, couples work, annual coaching, or when requested by the Company.
